Acara kopi darat dan buka bersama serentak berlangsung sukses!

Kemarin sore (22 Agustus), lebih dari 500 koproller berkumpul di 17 kota untuk kopi darat, berkenalan, berlomba dalam games seru untuk mendapatkan suvenir dari Yahoo! Koprol, dan bahkan melakukan Skype conference.

Mulai dari 50 peserta di Jogja, 50 di Bintaro, 40 di Makassar, sampai yang terbesar di Taman Menteng yang melebihi 100 peserta. Juga di Bali, Balikpapan, Semarang, Lamongan, Samarinda, Bandung, Bogor, Depok, Malang, Palembang, Bekas, Surabaya, dengan total lebih dari 500 peserta.

Hebatnya, acara besar ini inisiatif dari komunitas Koprol, diprakarsa oleh gegepoweranger, jiahaha dan admin masing2 komunitas seperti: Daengkops, Kodrat, Kops Minor, siKodok, Robokops, Sekkops, Kopijos, Psikopat, Kopstel, InfoJajan, Matador, Kopstar, Kokoban, Hima_kops, Kopdar_Loenpia, B_Kops, The Batick, Gaptek, Tim_ceria, Koper, Koject, nojako, kopilampung, sukoco, kophography, Laksan, KopSert, KopDarMini, KopdarTepian.

Salut atas suksesnya acara yang sepenuhnya dari komunitas. Go koprollers!

Atas inisiatif teman-teman di Komunitas Koprol, akan diselenggarakan "Buka Puasa Bersama Serentak" pada Hari Minggu Sore 22 Agustus 2010 di berbagai kota di Indonesia. Sebagian pada gambar dibawah ini adalah nama komunitas, admin di Koprol dan lokasi tempat berbuka dan jamnya.

Tetapi diluar list ini nggak menutup kemungkinan buat teman-teman yang ingin menyelenggarakan buka bersama untuk ikut berpartisipasi meramaikan kebersamaan Buka Puasa Serentak ini. Caranya?

Koprollers, we’re happy to introduce our biggest feature in the last few months. You’ve been able to suggest new places into Koprol, and wait for our approval. Now you can approve them yourself! Yes, we are giving the power to manage Koprol’s places to special users called Kurators.

Koprol is about verified places
Adding places is easy, but we don’t want to give you duplicates and bogus venues. We want valid places so it's easier to discover people around you. Now when places are being added, the Kurators collectively verify and edit them. This ensures you get better choice of places to check in to. What's fun, on each new place you can see who is responsible for creating and approving it.

Become a Kurator
Anyone can be a Kurator. All you need to do is add new places and get enough of them approved by current Kurators. Once you reach a certain threshold you automatically become a Kurator and be able to verify new places. If you are successful at verifying, eventually you'll get to the next level and be able to edit the map and information of those new places.

Secret Formula
Users have different levels of privileges based on a secret algorithm that studies the quality of their activities like adding places, verifying places, writing reviews, etc. Those who get approved a lot and verify correctly will get more access to editing. Meanwhile, people who add invalid places and verify incorrectly will eventually be demoted down. The algorithm will be tweaked from week to week to get the best formula and award your contributions.

One more good news. We used to have only 200 cities in Koprol, right? Well now you can add to any city in the world. Thanks to Yahoo! Geo Technologies, you can find millions of places in the world, including specific neighborhoods, and add specific venues.

Responsibilities:

Community

• Be an advocate for the Community within Koprol making sure that community feedback is heard, and that product roadmaps and user communications reflect our users’ needs. Represent Koprol to the Community.
• Foster community health and engagement through community moderation and other relevant short and long term initiatives to ensure that our community is healthy, satisfied and feels connected to Koprol. Enforce abuse policies where required.
• Set and maintain the overall tone of voice and guidelines for Community Management.
• Cultivate relationships with key “power” users and respond to inquiries from our top users on a timely basis, addressing any concerns that are raised by these users.

Customer care

• Foster strong relations with Customer Care representatives, ensuring that they meet service levels, and make accurate decisions (via calibration sessions).
• Be the go-to expert for any product-related questions Customer Care representatives may have.

Editorial

• Own a number of in-product editorial positions in your market, including the Koprol’s official blog.
• Own, edit and write the Koprol newsletter for your market if relevant.

Partnerships

• Manage the Partnership program for Koprol in your market, providing support to existing partners, surfacing their content through editorial position and assisting in the set up and training of new partners where relevant.

PR

• Contribute to and sign-off Koprol PR communications where relevant.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong communication and presentation skills, this includes a strong command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia,
• Strong grasp of general knowledge, current affairs and pop culture, and in-depth knowledge of Indonesia.
• Experience with Internet-based community services and applications as such as social networking, blog communities, forums, and message boards.
• Experience with customer acquisition strategies and consumer marketing and competitive analysis.
• Strong interest in fostering relationships and getting people together.
• Able to work with diverse teams of people from different cultures
• 2-5 years of product management/community administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Summary of Role:

• The Community Manager (Indonesia) will be reporting to the Country Editor of Yahoo! Indonesia and will be tasked with building and nurturing strong and healthy Communities for Yahoo! Community Products in Indonesia.
• The Community Manager (Indonesia) will work with relevant team members to manage the community, ensuring that it is healthy, engaged, and feels connected to Koprol. He or she will cultivate a relationship with power users through relevant initiatives.
• The Community Manager (Indonesia) will foster strong relationships with key product teams and with the Customer Care team. He or she will be an advocate of Koprol within the Yahoo! Network, ensuring that cross-promotional opportunities are optimized.

Dear Koprollers -

First off I just wanted to say thanks for supporting the product and the people behind Koprol. Indonesia is getting quite a lot of press these days and much of it happened since Yahoo! acquired Koprol. This is an exciting time for Indonesians, startups in Indonesia and the Indonesian internet.

Now I would like to introduce my boss Shanan Delp and myself – Michael Smith Jr. We are both Yahoo! employees and friends but even more importantly we are huge fans of Indonesia, the Koprol team and the Koprol community.
